Mastorakos Automotive Photography

After 30 years of commercial photography I am working on my passion project, the rolling art of automobiles and motorcycle. As an advertising photographer I have developed special techniques that allow me to light difficult reflective surfaces and the infinite angles of polished metals and glass. Automobiles and motorcycles are an ideal fit for this technique and I am exploring the subject in my project.

Lightpainting

Lightpainting is a special lighting technique that is perfect for putting light precisely were it is needed in order to convey an idea or to highlight a special feature. Over the years I have been perfecting this technique photographing subjects as diverse as jewelry, food, glass works, sculpture and even architecture. I don’t think there is a better subject for this technique than cars and bikes.

Photomontage

Represented by the collage image below. The montage is the combination of dozens of images combined to illustrate the overall design of the vehicle and to highlight the special design features of your vehicle. You have spent endless hours and dollars to preserve and create your part of the automotive universe. Equal parts technical expertise and art. My goal is to preserve your efforts and offer an interpretation of your vehicle.
